Description:
The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) is a skills training program. It is for qualifying people aged 55 and older who are low-income and not working. People will gain confidence and skills through part-time training.
Individuals will train about 20 hours per week and earn minimum wage. Once the individual has acquired the work skills needed, a SCSEP coordinator will help find permanent employment.
There are several nonprofit or government employers in the community the program partners with. Some include:
- Childcare centers
- Customer service
- Teacher's aide
- Computer technician
- Building maintenance worker
- Healthcare worker
