Tellegacy has an intergenerational program which helps keep older adults connected. University students, known as Legacy Builders, connect with residents of retirement communities, nursing homes and assisted living facilities trough virtual visits or phone conversations. The curriculum focuses on mindfulness, SMART goal-setting, growth mindset, visualization goal-setting exercise and legacy questions. Studens focus on building a rapport, providing a sense of hope, while also allowing the individual to impart wisdom and share stories of their past with students. A legacy book is provided to the resident at the end of session, with photos and descriptions of the older adult's life as shared during their conversations.
