Description:

NDAD is a charitable organization that offers programs/services for people with disabilities and health challenges. NDAD offers the following programs:
DIRECT FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM - prescription medications/medical equipment/medical supplies/out-of-town medical travel/home and vehicle accessibility/paratransit/ personal attendant care/respite care/adaptive recreational activities
AUTISM SPECTRUM ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (ASAP) - financial assistance for out of town medical appointments and respite for people of all ages diagnosed on the spectrum
HEALTHCARE EQUIPMENT LOAN PROGRAM (HELP) – free, three month loans of durable medical equipment; VAN LOAN PROGRAM – free, van loan for people who are full time wheelchair users and their driver (available at our Grand Forks and Minot offices only)
NORTH DAKOTA ORGAN TRANSPLANT FUND - financial assistance to individuals in need for costs associated with transplant operations not normally covered by insurance such as medical travel expenses
COMMUNITY FUNDRAISING PROJECTS – NDAD provides consultation and acts as custodian of the funds raised. Donations are tax deductible for those that itemize on their taxes. Funds raised may be used for medical bills, pre-existing bills and other costs related to health challenges
ADAPTIVE RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES - NDAD sponsors adaptive recreational activities such as swimming lessons, bowling, and sled hockey as well as events, including an annual adaptive water skiing event for individuals with physical disabilities
ADVOCACY - NDAD supports the rights of people with disabilities, doing all we can to ensure they receive services to which they are entitled from the appropriate agencies. When appropriate, we will refer to disability advocates based on an individual’s needs
