Description:
The Foster Grandparent Program (FGP) offers adults age 55 and older opportunities to serve as mentors, tutors, and caregivers for children and youth with exceptional needs by volunteering in schools, Head Start programs, day care centers, and other child-centered public service agencies. Eligible Foster Grandparents receive a small stipend while enriching the lives of children, many with special or exceptional needs. They also receive accident/auto/liability insurance, sick leave, vacations/holidays, meals/travel reimbursement, supervision, and training opportunities.
