Description:
The North Dakota Center for Persons with Disabilities (NDCPD) is part of a national network of 67 similar programs at universities throughout the US called University Centers for Excellence on Developmental Disabilities (UCEDDs).
These programs are funded by the Administration on Developmental Disabilities (ADD) at the US Department of Health and Human Services. UCEDDs are also linked to two other state entities called Protection and Advocacy (P&A) Projects and State Councils on Developmental Disabilities (SCDD) which are also funded by ADD. UCEDDs, P&As and SCDDs make up the "DD Network."
NDCPD's mission is to provide leadership and innovation that advances the state-of-the-art and to empower people with disabilities to challenge expectations, achieve personal goals and be included in all aspects of community life. The purpose of NDCPD is to increase the inclusion, integration, independence, and productivity of people who have disabilities in all aspects of community life. A diverse population of consumers, service providers, families, and people in the public and private sector is served. This is done by providing the core functions of training, services, dissemination and research to the disability community. For more information, visit our website at www.ndcpd.org.
