The North Dakota Long Term Care Ombudsman Program (LTCOP) is established and mandated under the authority of the federal Older Americans Act. The primary role of the ombudsmen is to be resident-directed advocates and identify, investigate, and resolve complaints that may adversely affect the health, safety, welfare and rights of residents. The ombudsmen serve all residents of nursing homes, basic care homes, assisted living homes and swing beds in the state. The LTCOP has the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman, six local ombudsmen, and volunteer ombudsmen. For more information please go to the website.
