Dickey County Senior Citizens operates meal programs and public transportation throughout Dickey County and beyond. They have locations in Ellendale (main office) and Oakes, as well as a meal site in Fullerton, ND. Oakes Senior Center 207 South 5th Street Oakes, ND 58474 742-3509 The Family Way 39 Monroe Street Fullerton, ND 58441 375-6408 Home Delivered, Congregate (in-house), and Takeout Meals are available at the Senior Centers in both Oakes and Ellendale. Congregate Meals are available at The Family Way restaurant in Fullerton. Public Transportation services are on a demand-response basis with wheelchair lift equipped vehicles. All areas of the county have access to transportation dependent on driver and vehicle availability. Call either senior center the day before you need a ride to arrange for transportation. Out of town medical appointment rides are available as well. Call as far in advance as possible to schedule these types of rides. They are also dependent upon driver and vehicle availability. The Meals Program provides congregate meals Monday - Friday at noon. Takeout meals are provided Monday-Friday at 11am. Home delivered meals are available to those determined to be homebound and meeting other criteria (physical, emotional, etc.). Sign up for any of the meals is required by 9:30 am the morning of by calling any of the available locations. Foot Care services are available at the Senior Center in Oakes, as well as other health maintenance programs and events. Call the senior center for the scheduled dates and more information.
