American Council of the Blind is a national organization that advocates for blind and visually impaired people. It provides information about Social Security benefits for visually impaired people, a magazine (in braille, large print, digital cartridge, podcast, email and online), college scholarships and advocacy. College scholarship applications are available on our website with a deadline of February 14. ACB has an annual convention at which the newest high and low tech devices for blind people are shown, policies decided and issues of concern are discussed. Toll-free information, referrals and free educational materials are available. Has a nationwide network of chapters offering a variety of programs; some also offer support groups.
