At NDVS/SB, it is believed that a person who is blind or visually impaired has the right to receive instruction in all aspects of his/her life in order to learn the skills necessary to reach full potential. In compliance with state and federal mandates, NDVS/SB offers a full range of service options, based on individual strengths and needs, and what is most appropriate at the specific time.

This document was developed by the Department of Public Instruction to assure that high quality services for the visually impaired are available throughout the state of North Dakota.
At the center located in Grand Forks, there are apartments and suites for housing, administrative and outreach offices plus the following resource centers: Vision Resource, Daily Living Skills, Technology, Music, Evaluation, and Vocational/Career. The school provides statewide leadership, center-based programming, and regionalized outreach services ensuring that the specialized needs of persons of all ages who are blind or visually impaired are met.
