The mission of the Federal Trade Commission is to protect consumers from unfair and deceptive trade practices and to keep the market fair and free for competition in the marketplace. The FTC administers the Federal Trade Commission Act and a number of trade regulation rules and special statutes such as the Consumer Credit Protection Act.
