Description:
The Volunteer Caregiver Exchange works to provide services to individuals who live independently in the community (not in facilities). The Volunteer Caregiver Exchange is an association of service organizations, community agencies, religious congregations, and individuals whose purpose is to recruit and train volunteers to assist with older, frail, and disabled people and their families in an effort to enable those served to maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life. The unique part of the program is that volunteers earn service credits for the time they spend helping. One hour of credit is earned and banked for every hour volunteer service to help another individual, 60+ years.
